it's the dark mite and his big ass big wheel bat pod! i like the poster design approach i ended up going with as opposed to doing a more scenic background.the dark mite: ink and illustrator
i realize the full color version might be a little too dark to appreciate so i'm throwing up the "inked" black line version as well. "inked" is in quotes because i tweeked A LOT of this in illustrator seeing as how i originally inked this with an old blunt sharpie through cheap ass tracing paper! the original black line looked like crap after scanning.the dark mite: rough pencils
as usual i like the roughness and energy of the rough pencils more than the final full color. only while doing the final version did i realize how much of an engineering disaster my bat pod was! how the hell is lil' bats supposed to steer this fucking monstrosity! i still think it looks pretty bad ass though.the joker: rough pencils
i will reiterate everyone else's sentiment about heath ledger and say that he was the freaking man in the dark knight! he will be missed.showdown in crime alley
just playing with some cardbaord and photoshop.

That is sweet, Jason! Great colors and wheel shading. I'm not sure about his neck though...those couple of lines give him a scrawny neck look...like grandpa Bat Mite...but I really dig the whole feel to the piece and the background is cool, too.
I'd love to see Rob ink up your Joker...!
THANKS JUSTIN!
glad you like the wheels but it's just a well placed gradient making it look all cool and 3-d like. i can't take credit for it.
but the rest is all me. cuz i'm super hella excellent at the drawing crap and whatnot.
and the scrawny neck stays!
Ok, scrawny neck or not it still looks cool...and, hey, it was your decision to put that gradient there!
no offense justin but....
WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYBODY??!!!?!?!??!!!
sorry jason-it's been a loooong summer!
really liking the bat mites!
I'm finally gonna see Dark Knight this week
( I feel like the last person in America who hasn't seen it yet!) so I'm muy excited and maybe I'll check back on your sketch to see if it resonates even more after viewing the movie!
thanks for checking in glen. betta late than nevah!
i too was late in seeing batman as i was pretty determined to see it in imax but i eventually just saw it in a regular theater. why? well, mathematically speaking...
millions of fanboys + one imax theater in all of manhattan = NO CHANCE IN HELL I WILL EVER SEE IT IN IMAX!!
